First time home buyer? (Which means you haven't owned a house in the past three years.) Time is running out to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit. In addition, a federal program for up to $10,000 in down payment assistance is also available. To qualify for the down payment assistance you must complete a 5-hour homebuyer class. I'm teaching such a class on a monthly basis. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the 21st and 22nd of July, at Centralia College.
